As an animal lover, Big Cat Rescue (BigCatRescue.org) is my favorite wildlife sanctuary here in America. They are one of the largest accredited sanctuaries in the world dedicated to abused and abandoned big cats and began rescuing exotic cats on November 4, 1992.
They are home to about 80+ lions, tigers, bobcats, cougars and other species, most of whom have been abandoned, abused, orphaned, saved from being turned into fur coats, or retired from performing acts. Many are also threatened, endangered or extinct now in the wild. What sets Big Cat Rescue apart is that we are working to end the abuse at its root by ending the private possession and trade in exotic cats through legislation and education.
"Big Cat Rescue’s mission is to provide the best home we can for the cats in our care, end abuse of big cats in captivity and prevent extinction of big cats in the wild."
I donated this design to be used for promotional items of which ALL sales proceeds go directly to the care of these magnificent animals.
This is how the Lion's Mane design started. I first created a male lion's head outline from inspiration sent to me by Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin.
LION'S MANE WITH LION TYPE
I took the above original design and added "LION" as part of his magnificent mane.
